All the students at Udayana were so bright, and I wanted to be like them.
I could have spent more meaningful time there if I could have spoken better English.
I realized how weak my English was. I also learned that I didn't have enough interest or knowledge about the place where I live.
I was happy that they tried to speak to me in easy English, even though I couldn't speak English well. I also enjoyed seeing the traditional ceremony at the end.
Everyone spoke English fluently, and some could speak four languages, so they were very smart. The female's formal dress was fabulous.
I was disappointed with my English ability and sorry that I couldn't communicate well in English. During the trip, I didn't have many problems with English, but when it came to speaking English, I was embarrassed because I couldn't understand at all, so I thought I should study It.
Many people can speak three or more languages, including English, Indonesian, and Balinese.
During the discussion, I was frustrated because I couldn't express my opinions well in English. On the other hand, the students from Udayana University didn't seem to mind and listened to me with a smile, which made me feel that they had a broad mind.
I felt that Japanese people might be too concerned about such things, and at the same time, I felt that I needed to study many things in order to communicate with many non-Japanese people.
I felt the difference in levels between Udayana students and us. I thought that from now on, we needed to study even harder.
The students at Udayana University had a high level of verbal ability. This was partly due to their high level of English, but it was more a matter of their ability to communicate their culture to people who didn't know about it. I think this is something that we can't do unless we know a lot of details about my own country, and I felt that this was something I was lacking.
